It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gayle C. Hirschey (Lowville, New York), born in Plattsburgh, New York, who passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Bruce E. Hirschey; and her parents, Glynn E. Lamoy and Roberta M. Lamoy. She is survived by: her children, Aaron Hirschey (Janis Cobb) of Port Leyden, Jacob Hirschey (Leah LaChausse) of West Monroe and Rachel Hirschey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her siblings, Bob (Wendy Lamoy), Jill (Steve Langevin), Richard (Cindy Lamoy), Glenda Gonyea (Earl Lemery) and Doug Lamoy of Morrisonville, NY; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Emma, Alex, Emmet, Vanessa, Laurel and Linden; and her great grandchildren, Carter and Calder. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lewis County Hospital Foundation Caitlyn R. Paté Fund, 7785 N. State St., Lowville, NY 13367 (The Caitlyn R. Paté Fund provides equipment and bereavement memory boxes to support families who have experienced the loss of a child through stillbirth or miscarriage) or to any of the other Lewis County Hospital Foundation funds.
