Alton A. Virkler Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alton A. Virkler (Lowville, New York), who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alton A. Virkler to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his son Kurt Alton Virkler; his brothers, Elwood and Carl Virkler; and his parents, L. Arthur Virkler and Pernal S. Farney Virkler.
He is survived by: his wife Geneva Lehman; his children, Sheri Flynn (Stephen) of Rochester, NY, Dale Virkler (Caroline) of Lowville and Karla Slabach (Terry) of Goshen, IN; his grandchildren, Zachary, Gregory Virkler, Amanda, Colin, Dylan Flynn, Katie and Nathan Slabach; and his sisters-in-law, Etta Virkler, Joyce Purvines Virkler Rice and Lehman. He is also survived by family, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Mennonite Church (8383 NY-812, Lowville, NY 13367). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
