He was predeceased by: his parents, Faye Porter and Shirley Porter (Jensen); and his siblings, Evelyn, Pete, Ethel, Peggy, Ed, Charlie, Eugene and Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Mitterwager; his children, Owen Porter (Margaret), Melissa Mirch (Michael), Beth Porter and Jenni Porter; his grandchildren, Jimmy Porter (Annie), Christopher Porter (Brie), Jordan, Emily, Michaela Mirch, Porter Crawson and Zachary Miller; and his great grandchild Ryleigh Crawson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel (29 E Main St, Hancock, NY 13783). A reception will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Long Eddy Fire House.
