He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Merrill and Sarah Dewitt Merrill; his wife Barbara Nichols Merrill; and his siblings, James Merrill (Inez), Roger Merrill, Mary Merrill Chilson and Charlotte Merrill Doolittle (Raymond).
He is survived by: his sons, Gregory Merrill (Dawn) of Silver Springs, NY, Jeffrey Merrill (Tina) of Catoosa, OK, James Merrill Johnson (Delores) of Sayre, PA and Mike Macumber (Pamela) of Athens, PA; his sisters, Margaret Merrill Wasielewski (Charles), Eleanor Merrill VanCuren (Robert), Harriett Merrill Baylor (Frank) and Virginia Merrill Nichols (George); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Jane Merrill and Rocky Chilson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
