He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodney Sharpsteen and Kathleen "Kye" Sharpsteen (Lisdell). He is survived by: his wife Melanie Sharpsteen (Bancroft); and his stepchildren, Julianne Rieks, J. Jess Rieks, Sheila Rieks Saxton and Joan Rieks Weir.
