She was predeceased by: her parent Robert H. Outen; her husband Jack Barnes; and her brother Rex. She is survived by: her parent Rubye Bell Kirkland Outen; her children, Bernette Diori, Howard Barnes (Stacie), Arlene Barnes, Aretha Barnes and Gene Outing; her sister Mary Thompson of Yvonne Workman; and her grandchildren, Bryce Barnes, Maymunah Diori, Miriam Diori, Rena Barnes, Marquese Barnes and Shawn Barnes. She is also survived by one great-grandchild and many friends.
