He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Gibson and Julia Marie Gibson; and his siblings, Lela Mae Gibson Footman, Ollen E. Gibson, Reverend Thomas L. Gibson and Pauline Gibson.
He is survived by: his daughters, April A. Hope of Clay, NY and Kamisha S. Gibson-Ashiono (Kevin) of North Carolina; his stepdaughter Doris D. Hope of Syracuse, NY; his sisters, Muna Mustafa and Julia A. McCarthy of Syracuse, NY; and his sister-in-law Eva Mae Gibson of Cheektowaga, NY. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
