He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Maher and Viola Maher (Ryan); and his siblings, Joseph Maher, Gerald Maher, Martha Palmer, Marie Cole, Mary Evans, Maureen Tranelli and Monica Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Sullivan Maher; his children, Molly Maher of Tucker, GA and Tim Maher of Liverpool, NY; and his siblings, Margaret Paul and John Maher. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
