He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Vadala and Natalie Vadala (Silino); his wife Gloria Vadala (Todaro); his children, Lori Bizzoco (Drew), Frank Vadala (Debra), Wendy Benvenga (Salvatore) and Stephanie Mendis (Ben); his siblings, Kathy and Anthony; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Natalie, Gianluca, Victoria and Domenico; and his aunt Angie Roffo. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In his lifetime, he won dozens of awards for his contribution to the environment, including The National Conservationist of the Year Award.
