He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; and his sons, David and Robert. He is survived by: his children, Charles, Clifford, James, Dennis, Dolly Dedrick and Debra McGeever. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren;23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
