He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard E. Burwell and Dorthea Burwell (Tracy); his brothers, Eugene and Millard "Junior" Burwell; and his son-in-law Edward Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Deborah Jordan, Sally Sullivan (John) and Randy Burwell (Nancy); and his sister Mary Latimer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
