He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Smith and Thelma Fluent Smith; and his stepsister Phyllis Wagner. He is survived by: his sons, Richard Smith of Rocky Face, GA, David Smith Jr. (Heather Watkins) of Limestone, NY, Michael Smith of Rocky Face, GA and Steven Smith of Rocky Face, GA; and his siblings, Dale McDonald of McAlpin, FL, Ronald Smith (Susan) of McAlpin, FL and John Smith (Katherine) of Salamanca, NY. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
