He was predeceased by: his brother Bruce; and his daughter Karen. He is survived by: his wife Lorrie; his children, Jim Shelly of Lima, NY, Jacqui Friedrich (Craig Friedrich) of Asheville, NC, Joan Shelly and Gary Gruber of Eugene; and his sister Carol Ann Schirch (Verne) of Virginia.
