He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Pero (Jack) and Ann Pero (Pfriemer); and his wife Judith G. Goss. He is survived by: his children, John "Jack" Pero III and Jaime Pero (Peter Pietrangeli); his brother-in-law Gary L. Goss (Annette) of Niagara Falls; and his pets, Herschel, Jojo and Fritzie.
