He was predeceased by: his son William Chaves. He is survived by: his wife Elidieth Chaves; his daughter Elidieth; his former spouse Ken Stern; his children, Rodrigo Chaves and Maureen; and his grandchildren, Gabriella (Noah), Rebecca and Diego.
