Richard Schmidt Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Diedrich L. Schmidt and Anna Schmidt (Otten); his parents-in-law, Charles and Hope Duffy; his sister Anita; his brother-in-law Werner Knudsen; his brother Hans Schmidt; and his nephews, Eric Schmidt and Frank Duffy.

He is survived by: his wife Laurie Schmidt; his daughters, Alisha Schmidt (James Purdy) and Joanna Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jackson, Kasey, Anna and Jesse Purdy; his siblings-in-law, Diane Schmidt, Christine Duffy, Sharon Rushkoski (John), Michael Duffy (Maria) and Neal Duffy (Alicia); and his nieces and nephews, Richard Schmidt, Kurt Knudsen, Jon Knudsen, Wade Griffin, Brent Griffin, Tara Wilson, Marissa Duffy, Elizabeth Cuddy, John Duffy, Jeremy Rushkoski, Amina Thomas, Sean Duffy and Chris Duffy. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home (139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414). A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Catskill Cemetery (27 N Jefferson Ave, Catskill, NY 12414).
