He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Simon and Sarah Kane Matt; his brothers, Leo, Paul, Theodore, Thomas and Frank; his great grandchild Jeremiah; his daughter-in-law Dana Matt; and his grandson Ryan "Ryano" Matt.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey H. Weiler; his children, Lorrie Gorman (Bob) of Durhamville, Charleen Davis (Len) of Liberty, JoAnn Hunt (Walter) of Lee Center, Deanna Kotary (Tim) of Oriskany Falls, Wayne Matt of Lee Center and Eric Matt (Anna) of Lee Center; his siblings, Rose Marie Gregorwich (Walter), Alan Matt (Nancy) and Vincent Matt (Bobbi); and his grandchildren, Tyson Gorman (Joy), Caitlin Friebel (Andy), Molly Roberts (Andrew), MacKenzie Giannico (Michael), Aubrey Slator (Dan), Cavan Gorman (Kelsey), Shawlee Gorman, Deidree Davis, Karlayna Davis, Piper Davis, Travis Matt, Sarah Matt, Mattison Hunt and Max Hunt.
