He was predeceased by: his parents, William Whispell and Ruth Whispell (Ruland); and his siblings, Joan Page and Harry Whispell. He is survived by: his wife Virginia L. Whispell (Ginny) of Laurens; his brother Gene Fairburn (Patty) of Florida; and his children, Catherine Spoor of Laurens, NY, Teresa Bell-Rose (Lysle) of Laurens, NY, Deborah Glidden (Vern) of Oneonta, NY, Edward Whispell, Jr. (Vivian) of Richmondville, NY and Christine Whispell (Matt) of Pittsburgh, PA.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Helios Care (formerly Catskill Area Hospice) or Susquehanna SPCA in Cooperstown in Ed Whispell's name.
