He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Kappes and Beatrice Kappes; his wife April Kappes; and his siblings, Karl, Richard, Beatrice, Beverly and Edward.
He is survived by: his son Robert T. Kappes Jr; his stepchildren, Marilyn O'Brien and Joseph Amash; and his siblings, William (Fran), Donald (Millie), Keith (Sandy), Helen and Sharon. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
