He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Payne and Jane Payne; and his brothers, Anthony and William. He is survived by: his wife Sue McCarty; his children, Charlotte, Will, Margo and Elise (Bauer); and his siblings, Tammy Payne (Bob), Janet Herbold Tara Payne (Tom), Kevin Payne, Michael Payne and Richard Payne (Lauren). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Town of Mamaroneck Fire Department and the Ray Pfeifer Foundation.
