He was predeceased by: his sister Ann Cannizzaro (Pasquale). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Costello; his children, David A. Costello Jr. (Karen) and Valerie Ketterer (Jeff); his grandchildren, Alyssa Kelchlin (Dakota), Liana Ketterer (Owen Adamec), Hannah Costello and Nicholas Costello; and his brother-in-law Daniel Vaccaro (Christine). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc. (4929 Broadway, Depew, NY 14043). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (5337 Genesee St, Bowmansville, NY 14026).
