He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dr. Howard T. Howlett and Lucille Winter Howlett; his wife Dee Ann Christy Howlett; his sons, Howard T. Howlett III of Bainbridge Island and Donald Christy Howlett of Sarasota; his grandsons, Howard T. Howlett IV of Bainbridge Island and Harrison Phillip Howlett of Bainbridge Island; and his sister Mary Lou Mabee. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department, 37 J.W. Packard Blvd., Lakewood, NY 14750.
