It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michelle Ann Speckmann in Lake Placid, New York, born in Saranac Lake, New York, who passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Heinz Speckmann. She is survived by: her mother Marianne Speckmann; her sister Diane Brenner (Ron); her nephew Evan Brenner; her brothers, Edmund Meister Jr. and Peter Meister (Karen); and her nephew Andrew Meister. She is also survived by several relatives in Germany and many, many friends.

“I hired Michelle into a very difficult job with Rockingham County Schools. She then became a teacher and I had the pleasure of observing her during her first three years. Michelle was one of the best inclusion teachers I ever had. Her love and respect for students both with and without disabilities was incredible. The students flocked to her and she worked hard to meet their needs. Whereever she taught, children benefited. So sorry for her untimely loss. - Ann Brady”
