He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph W.. He is survived by: his parent Evelyn Cormie (Benware); his spouse Fay Isabelle Stewart; his former wife Joyce Fairbanks (Rose); his wife Joyce Cormie of Lake George; his children, Larry Cormie (Jane) of Florida, Joseph Cormie, Jr. of Fort Ann, Scott Cormie, Matthew Cormie of Clifton Park, Karen Cormie, William Quinn of Queensbury, Kathleen Hilpertshauser (Glenn) of Hudson Falls, Stephen Fairbanks (Sharon) of Hudson Falls, Jack Fairbanks (Sheri) of Florida, Beth Mabie, David "Jake" of Chestertown and Amy Harrington (Jeff) of Gansevoort; and his siblings, Mary Ann Haydel (Joe) of Moreau and Peter J. Cormie (Susan) of Argyle. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren, for whom he was a warm and loving grandfather.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Joe's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
