He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold LaFountain and Lillian LaFountain (McNaughton); and his brother Richard "Dick" LaFountain. He is survived by: his children, Marie Carter (Jeremy) of Fort Edward, Sonny James LaFountain of Hudson Falls and Joshua Whitty of Saranac Lake; his brothers, Elton LaFountain (Linda) of Lake Luzerne, Eric LaFountain (Patty) of Lake George and Jeffrey LaFountain of Ballston Spa; his grandchildren, Kayla Tenney (John) of Washington State, Kayden Carter of Fort Edward and Iris Whitty of Saranac Lake; his cousins, Ann Bardin of Harford, Valerie Haché of Fort Edward and John Mattison of Queensbury; and also, Lori Eagle, Rick Moon of Lake George and Tim Campbell (Maureen Hayden) of Lake George. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Sonny's memory can be made to a charity of one's choice.
