He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanette Rugar; his sons, Joel and David Rugar; and his siblings, Mary Grant, Estelle Doughty, Gladys Bennett, Susan Rugar, George A. Rugar, Sr., Edward Rugar, Robert Rugar, Richard Rugar, Harold Rugar, Ronald Rugar, Allan Rugar, Donald Rugar and Thomas Rugar.
He is survived by: his siblings, Christine Rugar, Dave Rugar, John Rugar and Ray Rugar; and his children, Ferris Rugar Jr., Frederick Rugar, Corey Rugar and Jolene. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
