She was predeceased by: her parents, Calphurnia Eckert and Edward Eckert; and her brother James Sanford. She is survived by: her husband Samuel H. Shaffer, Sr. (Big Sam); her children, Sharon Shaffer Sparkman, Jay Shaffer (Doris) and Samuel H. Shaffer, Jr. (Rosemary); her granddaughters, April Dorsey (Ronnie) and Gretchen Sparkman (Ed); her great grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee Dorsey, Heide and Aine Sparkman; her sisters-in-law, Alice Phelps and Alicia Andrews; her niece Susie Wright; her nephew Brian Shipley; her friends, Jane Sullivan and Mellina Weiss; and her caregiver Kristi. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
