She was predeceased by: her husband Stanley E. Chmielowiec; her parents, George and Rose Maj; and her siblings, John Maj (Rita), Richard Maj (Frances), Marcel Maj (Pauline), Edward Maj (Emily), Adeline Chmiel (John), Rose Baron (Al), Jean Panek (Tom), George Maj (Maryann) and Joe Maj (Helen).
She is survived by: her children, Thomas (Dawn), Robert (late Judy) and Richard Chmielowiec (Nancy); her grandchildren, Robert (Molly), David (Vicki), Kate Fratello (Nicholas) and Thomas Jr.; her great grandchildren, Hanna, Jack, Rylee and Aurora; and her goddaughter Karen Chmiel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John J. Kaczor Funeral Home, Inc. - Blasdell (3450 South Park Ave, Buffalo, NY 14219). A prayer was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of Victory Basilica (767 Ridge Rd, Lackawanna, NY 14218). A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (2900 South Park Ave, Lackawanna, NY 14218).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Virginia's name to Hospice Buffalo or towards the Restoration of OLV Basilica.
