She was predeceased by: her husband Michael R. Schiavi; and her brothers, John Jr. Madeja (Lucy) and Michael Madeja (late Judy). She is survived by: her children, Jack Schiavi (Deborah), Karen Riner, Susan and Richard Schiavi (Sandra); her grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Christopher, Matthew, Michael, Nicholas, Amanda and Brian; her great grandchild Elisabeth; and her siblings, Edward Madeja (Linda) and Sandra D'Addario. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to Sisters of Charity Hospital.
