It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Smith of Lackawanna, New York, born in Rockingham, North Carolina, who passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Mae and Floyd McKinley Maynard; her brother Frank Blakley Jr.; her son Corey S. Smith, Sr.; and her grandson Daven Shabrille Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Monica Joy Smith and Thomas G. Smith; her daughter-in-law Kamilya Smith; her grandchildren, Trey McNeil, Corey Smith, Jr., Jaden Smith, Ainsley Henery, Asia Henery and Tyler Smith; her great grandchildren, Aiden C. Henery, Aubree C. Henery and Corryn Smith; her sisters, Carolyn Maynard, Lillie Mae Washington, Dallas Buttrom and Viola Blakely; her sisters-in-law, Gwen Maynard, Nichelle Gayle (Charles), Fonda Tubbins (Elijah) and Tomica Brewer; and her nephews, Howard F. Maynard, Jr., Rapheal Washington (Danette), Floyd Maynard, III and Clayton Maynard (Morgan). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
