He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Herold Carroll; his brother James Carroll; his parents, Henry Carroll and Sara Carroll; and his sister Anne Root.

He is survived by: his sons, Paul Jr. (Sandra Lynn) of Knoxville, TN, Michael (Kim Foster-Carroll) of Hopkinton, MA, Daniel (Anne) of Earlville, NY, Robert (Becky) of La Fayette, NY, John (Heather Schrader-Carroll) of La Fayette, NY and Kevin (Christine) of Jamesville, NY.; his brother Henry Carroll; and his close friends, Ron and Pat Unger. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
