He was predeceased by: his wife Helen T. Shust; and his son Paul S. Shust. He is survived by: his daughters, Christine Bedford and Carolyn Walker (Jim); his granddaughters, Melissa Wrench and Caitlin Giblin (John); and his siblings, Tiny and Nick. He is also survived by 4 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory can be made to Meals on Wheels 85 Walnut St., Binghamton NY 13905.
