He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward R Egan and Mary Egan; his former wife Peggy Ann Egan; and his brother John Egan. He is survived by: his fiancée JoAnn Jensen of Port Dickson; his children, Barbara Bodnar (Robert) of Kirkwood, NY, Eddie Egan of Binghamton, NY, Susan Egan of Charlotte, NC and Steven Egan (Rachel) of Syracuse, NY.; his siblings, Michael Egan (Helen Rae), Helen Egan, Mary Joggerst (Ben), Margaret Murray (Edward) and Patricia Egan; his grandchildren, Christopher, Jordan, Elizabeth, Mariah and Eric; and his great grandchildren, Natasha and Noella.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 5 Mile Point Fire Company or St Mary's of Kirkwood's Building Fund.
