He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Howard Bender and Clara Bender; his wife Mary; his grandson Jeffrey Roberts; his children, Betty Roberts (Terry Graves) and Robert Bender (Cathy); his granddaughter Kristen Roberts; his great grandchild Robert Joseph Meade III; and his sister Betty Curtis. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
