He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Marie Rose Benkert (Elliott); and his brother Joseph Benkert. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Benkert; his son John Benkert (Renai Benkert); his grandsons, Matthew and Anthony of Kingston; his son Paul Benkert (Alison) of Highland; his grandchildren, Nicole, Caitlin, Emily, Sean and Ashley; his sister Nancy Ahrens; his brother-in-law Oscar of Kingston; his brother William Brundage (Donna) of South Carolina; and his sister-in-law Jean Benkert of Kingston.
