The memory of Mert E. Germain of Kingston, New York, who passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred A. Germain and Dorothy Germain (Madine); his wife Lise M. Germain (Thisdele); and his siblings, Fred Germain, Raymond Germain, Rosemary Flora, Ronnie Germain and Hoyt Germain.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Garraty (Bill), Michael Germain (Kathy) and Brian Germain; his sisters, Dorothy Jean Palmer, Sandra Lloyd and Sheri Germain Stambaugh; his grandchildren, Emily Germain (Jesse Colon), Benjamin Germain (Amber), Katie Garraty-Valley (Joseph Valley) and William Garraty III (Lydia); his great grandchildren, Charlotte Colon, William Garraty IV and Walter Garraty; and his friend Marie Van of Bogart.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. (27 Smith Ave, Kingston, NY 12401). A procession will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Catherine Laboure Church (200 Tuyten Bridge Rd, Lake Katrine, NY 12449). A burial will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
