She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward A. McGowan and Melvina J. McGowan (Miles); her daughter Cynthia "Cindy" McDermott; her sisters, Margaret Walker, Angela Doyle and Edwina Meiers; her stepfather Nelson Miles; and her stepsister Therese Donnelly.

She is survived by: her son William McDermott Jr. (Jennifer Harvey) of Kingston; and her grandchildren, Madison and Nicholas McDermott.
