He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Matthews (Sparling) and Robert Matthews; his wife Jacqueline FitzGerald; and his siblings, Robert, Richard, Ronald, Marie Schussler and Eileen Tierney.
He is survived by: his sister Jeanne Benson; his daughter Deborah Dautrich (Russell); his granddaughters, Jennifer Gautam (Arvind), Kelly and Elizabeth; and his great grandchild Rory Gautam.
