He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Short and Thelma Evans Short; his wife Henrietta Grant Short; his son Timothy; his grandchildren, April and Jimmy; and his sister Nancy Spiak.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Heather Short Craig (Kristofer) of Mt. Tremper; and his great grandchildren, Laura and Sarah Craig.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home (87 Main St, Phoenicia, NY 12464). Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
His presence was a cornerstone in the lives of those who knew him, and his contributions to his country, his community, and his family are indelible.
