George J. Habernig Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George J. Habernig (Kingston, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 18, 2024 at the age of 105. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. Habernig, Sr. and Ellen Habernig (Cassidy); his wife Ann Habernig; his son George J. Habernig, III (Kathleen); and his sisters, Frances Chiaramonte and Elizabeth Schneegass.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Habernig (Elaine) of Kingston, James P. Habernig (Carla) of Port Ewen, Thomas Habernig of Kingston, Timothy Habernig (Lori) of Latham and MaryAnn Mucia (David) of Papillion, Nebraska.; and his sister Catherine Franchini.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. (27 Smith Ave, Kingston, NY 12401). A procession will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (242 Wall St, Kingston, NY 12401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 12:15 PM at the St. Thomas of Canterbury Cemetery (52 Mailler Ave, Cornwall, NY 12518).
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to either St. Joseph's Church or Hudson Valley Hospice in George's name.
