It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita T. Luning of Kings Park, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on October 12, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Gorey and Josephine Gorey; her siblings, Richard Gorey (Dorothy) and Thomas Gorey (Hedy); and her granddaughter Theresa.
She is survived by: her children, Robert (Dianna), Loretta, Thomas (Annemarie), Gerard (Catherine) and Mary Ellen; her siblings, Stephen Gorey (Barbara), Joseph Gorey (Peggy), Roger Gorey (Jane) and Eileen Gorey; and her grandchildren, Pamela, Robert, Ryan, Daniel, Connor, Michael, Nicole and Courtney.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Rita's memory to the St. Joseph's Food Pantry in care of the St. Vincent dePaul Society at St. Joseph's Church, Kings Park or Operation Smile at OperationSmile.org.
