He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John R. Sr. Hessel and Marion Hessel; his spouse Gail P. Hessel; his children, Mary Endsley and John R. Hessel III; his daughter-in-law Karen Hessel; his siblings, Thomas Hessel (Mary) and Paul Hessel (Rosemary); his grandchildren, Helen, Marion, John R. IV, Anne and Jessica; and his great grandchildren, Akari, Adelaine, Hal, Amaris and Dorothy.
Due to the COVID pandemic the family has decieded to hold a private funeral for the family only and will hold a public memorial at later date.
