She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Jennings and Nellie Jennings (Laufersweiler); and her sister Bernice Jennings Miller. She is survived by: her children, Sherrie DeSimone and Joseph Desimone; her brother Walter Jennings (Denise); her grandchildren, Angela Brodie and AJ Rodriguez; and her great grandchildren, Anthony and Cameron Rodriguez. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in Rita's name to Hospice of Sullivan and Orange County.
