He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathew Palachuvattil and Annakutty Palachuvattil; and his sister Annakutty Joseph (Joseph). He is survived by: his wife Anna Palachuvattil; his children, Giann Palachuvattil and Joel Palachuvattil; and his siblings, Thresyamma Luiz (Robert), Mary (Joseph), James Mathew (Elizabeth), Rev. Mathew Palachuvattil, George Mathew (Annie) and Thomas Mathew (Rani).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York, or Digestive Disease Research & Education at the Cleveland Clinic.
