He was predeceased by: his brothers, John (late Aileen) and Donald MacDonald (Dora). He is survived by: his spouse Jerie MacDonald (Gross); his children, David (Julie) and Glen MacDonald; his grandchildren, Kasey and Carter; and his siblings, Lawrence (late Judy), Richard (Jean) and Carolyn Wells (late Daniel). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
