Madelyn J. Weiss Obituary

Madelyn J. Weiss, of Kauneonga Lake, passed away on January 3, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 89. She was the daughter of John and Georgia Horton, born on June 4, 1932 in Eldred, NY. Madelyn worked for the Town of Bethel, but her true passion was being out in the garden. In her free time she enjoyed playing bingo and taking day trips. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Kauneonga Lake Fire Department. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. She is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Ruth, Terry Lynch and Donna Davis and her husband James; as well as fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a special family friend Gus Bertrum and her best friends Ray Houghtaling and his wife Leah. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Roland as well as three siblings. A graveside service will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY 12754.
