He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gardiner and June Gardiner. He is survived by: his wife Kate Nestor; his children, Amanda of Solvay and Matthew Gardiner (Tracy) of Memphis; and his siblings, Susan MacKenzie of Baldwinsville, Donald Gardiner (Eileen) of Syracuse and Michael Gardiner of Baltimore, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
