She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Frank Hiack and Helena Hiack (Pengelly) of Butler Pennsylvania; her siblings, Martha Clem, Marian Clark and Dr Paul Hiack; her former husband Rev E. Ellwood Carey; and her son Scott Carey (Elizabeth).
She is survived by: her son David Carey (Kerrie); her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Carey; her grandchildren, Nicole Lanza (Robert), Dr Abbie Carey, Autum Carey, Willow Carey and Echo Carey; her great grandchild Alexander Lanza; her nephews, John Clem (Wendy), Robert Clark and Thomas Clark (Daria); and her niece Paula Tenaglia (Mike).
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Deacons Fund of the First Presbyterian Church Johnstown NY.
