He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvola Bennett (Ercanbrack) and Michael Bennett; and his sisters, Dorothy Kitchen and Elizabeth Ahnert (Betty). He is survived by: his wife Michele Orsell Bennett; his children, Victoria Nellis (Greg), Michael Bennett (Linda), Susan Acquilla (Victor) and Kevin Bennett (Sherry); his grandchildren, Jason Kohout (Jamie), Lisa Kohout, Zack Acquilla (Nicole), Lucas Nellis (Natalie), Chad Acquilla (Liz) and Brooke Tennis (Jake); and his great grandchildren, Jack, Julianna, Mila, Rhiannon, Teagan, Thomas, Hadley, Kennedy, Bennett and Oaklyn.
Memorial donations in Leonard's memory may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY.
