He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Palmateer (Dennison) and Clarence Palmateer; and his siblings, Fred, Peter Palmateer Sr. and Eileen Martin.

He is survived by: his nephew Peter (Missy); his brothers, James (Mary Ellen) and William Palmateer; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Palmateer.

Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY.
